BIO

Vikram Vij is an Indian-born Canadian chef, restaurateur, author and television personality, best known as the visionary behind Vij’s, the acclaimed Vancouver restaurant that helped redefine Indian cuisine in Canada. Blending bold flavours with refined technique, his approach has earned international recognition.

After leaving his home country of India in 1983 to study hospitality in Austria, Vikram trained as a chef before moving to Canada, where he worked at the Banff Springs Hotel and later settled in Vancouver, becoming a certified sommelier and deepening his expertise in wine and food pairings.

An accomplished author, he has written several cookbooks, including My New Indian Kitchen (2025), co-authored with Jennifer Muttoo.

Vikram joined Dragon’s Den as an investor in 2014, bringing his entrepreneurial insight to a national audience. He continues to elevate Indian cuisine through innovation, storytelling and a deep commitment to hospitality.
