BIO

Chef Eva Chin is an award-winning culinary visionary known for her innovative approach to Asian cuisine, showcased through her work as Culinary Director for Hong Shing Restaurant Group, where she oversees the acclaimed Yan Dining Room.

In 2025, she was named one of Toronto Life’s Top 50 Most Influential Torontonians and Foodism’s Rising Star Icon. She also received multiple honours for Yan Dining, including being named as one of Air Canada’s Best New Restaurants, one of Toronto Life Best New Restaurants and Air Canada’s Concept of the Year.

Born into a multicultural Asian family and raised in Hawaii, Eva’s cooking is deeply rooted in culture, community and connection to the land. Her global culinary journey has taken her from Japan to London to Hong Kong, as well as Vancouver to Toronto, with acclaimed roles at Kōjin by Momofuku, Boulevard Kitchen and Oyster Bar, Royal Dinette and acclaimed pop-up The Lazy Dog.

Eva is an avid voice for the community and is doing great work with leading brands around the world. She believes in the need to cultivate community, shared through cuisine and stories from our cultures.
