Michael Angeloni

Race to Rescue

BIO

Chef Michael Angeloni is a Toronto-based chef whose cooking reflects a deep respect for craftsmanship, seasonality and the traditions of Italian cuisine.

Born into a Polish-Italian household, his connection to food began in the kitchen with his grandmother, where he learned to roll and shape pasta by hand — an experience that shaped his philosophy that great cooking starts with patience, care and respect for ingredients.

Over more than two decades in professional kitchens, Michael trained under some of Toronto’s most influential chefs, including Grant van Gameren at The Black Hoof, David Lee at Splendido and Dario Tomaselli at Oro. Toronto's multicultural food culture and access to exceptional local ingredients have played a significant role in shaping his perspective. The result is a cuisine that remains grounded in tradition while embracing the creativity and diversity of a modern kitchen.
