Ned Bell is a renowned Canadian chef and environmental advocate known for his leadership in sustainable food systems. He leads the Planetary Health Menu Project at Vancouver General Hospital and helped transform the Naramata Inn into a celebrated farm-to-table destination.
A Fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society and recipient of an honorary doctorate, Ned was named Chef of the Year at the Pinnacle Awards and authored the best-selling cookbook Lure: Sustainable Seafood Recipes from the West Coast.
Ned has represented Canada at the United Nations and founded Chefs for Oceans, cycling across the country to promote sustainable seafood choices. In 2025, he became Champion and Ambassador for Seafood Watch. He is also a sought-after speaker, media guest and culinary leader passionate about sustainability and local food systems.
