After training at NAIT in Edmonton, he earned his Red Seal and an Honorary Degree of Excellence for achievements beyond academics. He was also honoured for his work with children, adults and elders, holding the Indigenous Role Model Award and the Indigenous Culinary Arts Award.
With over 25 years of experience, Shane has led culinary programs across top hotels and restaurants and authored the award-winning cookbook tawâw: Progressive Indigenous Cuisine. He has appeared on shows including Top Chef Canada and Iron Chef Canada, among others.
A global ambassador for Indigenous food, Shane spoke at COP27 in Egypt and continues to share his knowledge worldwide through storytelling, education and culinary innovation.
