“Food waste is such an important issue for a number of reasons, including the fact that wasting food has a large environmental footprint. But for me, it’s also important to highlight that food waste is something that Canadians can absolutely take action on, even in an everyday sense. Whether we’re talking about cooking more low waste at home, staying mindful about what’s happening in our fridges, freezers and cupboards, being sure to compost any food scraps that are left over — or even supporting an organization like Second Harvest — food waste is an issue that we can all be a part of tackling, as we work towards a more sustainable future for everyone.”
