Jane Aster Roe is an award-winning multimedia writer, producer and storyteller based in Toronto, Canada. She has worked on multiple BroadwayWorld-recognized theatrical productions and is producing the remount of the acclaimed comedy musical UNSUNG: The Accidental Villains of History.
As a writer for Pizza Shark, her script has gone through the Sundance Collab program and, in 2025, she was the lead producer of the documentary “An Artist’s Journey: Legacy of Japanese Canadian Internment” for CBC’s Absolutely Canadian, airing on Gem now.
She is the host, creator and executive producer of the six-part podcast series “The Defendants” airing now, aimed to help raise awareness and deepen public understanding around sexual assault as a way to help bring about meaningful change.
As the founder and CEO of Aster Roe Productions, through her work she strives to tell unknown stories and tell familiar stories through new lenses.
