Race to Rescue

BIO

Michelle Moraes is the Senior Manager of Digital Strategy at Second Harvest, Canada’s largest food rescue organization, where she leads digital campaigns that raise awareness and drive action to reduce food waste and fight hunger across the country.

Michelle’s relationship with food runs deep — she is a foodie, chef and entrepreneur who spent eight years owning and operating a beloved storefront bakery in Toronto’s vibrant Junction community. Food has always been her craft and connection to community, grounded in a belief that when good food is accessible, it does more than nourish; it connects people and strengthens community.

Today, that belief shows up in her work through storytelling and digital strategy that helps bring the mission of food rescue to life — connecting people to impact in a way that inspires action.

As a staff ambassador for Race to Rescue, Michelle is proud to help ensure good food is rescued and shared where it’s needed most.

Hi Michelle! Long time, no see! Love to see the work you're doing though, and following your journey, even if just the social media highlight reel. We've come so far since high school 😊 Keep up the good work! Aaron
