Craig Wong

Race to Rescue

BIO

Chef Craig Wong is a judge on MasterChef Canada, host of Cook Like A Chef and one of Toronto’s most celebrated culinary voices. A classically trained chef, Craig earned top honours at the prestigious L’Institut Paul Bocuse in Lyon before sharpening his craft under legendary chefs Alain Ducasse at the three-Michelin-starred Plaza Athénée in Paris and Heston Blumenthal at The Fat Duck in England.

In 2014, he opened Patois, the acclaimed Toronto restaurant blending Chinese family-style dining with bold Caribbean flavours. He later expanded internationally as executive chef of Ting Irie in Dubai, the city’s first Jamaican restaurant. His ventures also include Hardo Studios, a TV-ready culinary content space, and his newest restaurant, AYLA, inspired by Hong Kong and the Asian diaspora.

Born and raised in Toronto, Craig’s Jamaican-Chinese roots and multicultural upbringing continue to shape his cooking philosophy — a fearless exploration of flavour and culture.
