Laurianne Desmarais-Gilbert

Race to Rescue

BIO

Laurianne Desmarais-Gilbert is a former Olympic mogul skier who competed with Canada’s national team for eight years, culminating in the 2026 Winter Olympics before retiring from elite competition. This fall, she will begin university studies in physiotherapy, with the goal of supporting athletes and returning to elite sport in a new role as a therapist.

A passionate feminist and advocate for women in sport, Laurianne works with Femmes dans le Sport, a Quebec-based organization promoting women’s health in athletics. She also mentors young girls in mogul skiing, encouraging them to stay in sport, have fun and take up space with confidence.

Laurianne is participating in the campaign because of her firsthand experience witnessing food waste while working in restaurants as a teenager. She is proud to support Second Harvest and help raise awareness about reducing food waste in Canada.
