As Canada’s largest food rescue organization, Second Harvest rescues surplus food across the supply chain and redistributes it to non-profits feeding communities. In 2024, Second Harvest rescued and redistributed over 87.1 million pounds of food to more than 12,400 non-profit programs.

Every year in Canada, nearly half of all food is wasted — enough to feed 17 million people — while at least 10 million people are struggling to put food on the table.
