Let's put food on the table for Canadian families in need this holiday season!

The holidays are a time for family, gratitude, and giving. This season, let's bring hope to families facing food insecurity. Together, we can help the more than 10 million Canadians who struggle to put food on the table.

Reliance on food banks is at an all-time high, with more than 4 million visits in Toronto last year, and children making up about one third of those in need. 

Every year in this country, nearly half of all food is wasted — enough to feed 17 million people. Additionally, food waste worsens climate change with 26 million tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions every year.

As Canada’s largest food rescue organization, Second Harvest rescues surplus food across the supply chain and redistributes it to non-profits feeding communities. Last year, they redistributed over 95 million pounds of food to 10,800 programs, feeding more than 6 million Canadians.

This year we ask you to consider joining the Schneider Family in helping address this growing need in our society by making a donation to Second Harvest.

The Schneider Family Foundation will match every donation, up to $50,000, for a total fundraising goal of $100,000, which would provide a week's meals for more than 5,000 struggling families.

All donations will receive a full tax receipt.
