Let’s fight food waste and food insecurity together.
On May 13, 2026 my team will be competing to pull a 20,000-pound delivery truck across Nathan Phillips Square in the fastest time, all in support of food rescue in Canada. We need your help!
Every year, 46.5% of the food produced for Canadians is lost or wasted, polluting the environment and pushing nutrition further out of reach for so many people. In fact, 8,7 million people in this country are food insecure. These are shocking numbers and they’ve inspired me to fundraise for Second Harvest.
As Canada’s largest food rescue organization, Second Harvest rescues food from being wasted all across the supply chain and redistributes it to non-profits supporting Canadians struggling to put food on the table. In 2025, Second Harvest rescued and redistributed over 95.3 million pounds of food to more than 10,800 non-profit programs.
For every dollar raised, Second Harvest can rescue enough food for three healthy meals. Our goal is a minimum of $2,500!
Donate today to help Second Harvest rescue fresh, surplus food and feed Canadians in need. It’s the right thing to do.

Why I’m Joining Second Harvest’s 7th Annual Truck Pull Challenge
Tuesday 14th AprThere are some opportunities that feel like an easy yes, and this is one of them.
This year, I’m proud to be taking part in Second Harvest’s 7th Annual Truck Pull Challenge at Nathan Phillips Square. On the surface, it’s a wildly fun event where teams of 10 pull a 20,000-pound delivery truck as fast as they can. But underneath the excitement, the teamwork, and the adrenaline, there’s something much deeper that makes this matter to me.
What really stayed with me was learning the statistics behind food waste and food insecurity in Canada. I was honestly very surprised. I had no idea that 46.5% of the food produced for Canadians is lost or wasted, while at the same time 8.7 million people in this country are food insecure. Seeing those numbers stopped me in my tracks. It was one of those moments that makes you pause and really reflect on what is happening around us.
I’m involved because I know fighting food waste and food insecurity is simply the right thing to do.
That’s why I’m so inspired by the work Second Harvest is doing. They partner with businesses across the supply chain to rescue surplus food and redirect it to non-profits and communities in every province and territory in Canada. Real food, real impact, real people being supported.
Our team’s goal is to raise at least $2,500 to support that mission, and I’d love your help. Every donation goes toward helping Second Harvest rescue fresh, surplus food and get it where it’s needed most.
For me, this is about showing up in a meaningful way. It’s about putting our energy behind something that genuinely helps people. And yes, it’s about pulling a massive truck — but more than that, it’s about pulling together for something bigger than ourselves.
Thank you for supporting this cause with me.
