On May 13, 2026 my team will be competing to pull a 20,000-pound delivery truck across Nathan Phillips Square in the fastest time, all in support of food rescue in Canada. We need your help!
Every year, 46.5% of the food produced for Canadians is lost or wasted, polluting the environment and pushing nutrition further out of reach for so many people. In fact, 8,7 million people in this country are food insecure. These are shocking numbers and they’ve inspired me to fundraise for Second Harvest.
As Canada’s largest food rescue organization, Second Harvest rescues food from being wasted all across the supply chain and redistributes it to non-profits supporting Canadians struggling to put food on the table. In 2025, Second Harvest rescued and redistributed over 95.3 million pounds of food to more than 10,800 non-profit programs.
For every dollar raised, Second Harvest can rescue enough food for three healthy meals. Our goal is a minimum of $2,500!

Why I'm fundraising for Second Harvest
Tuesday 17th MarFood insecurity and food waste are issues that are easy to overlook—but once you start learning the numbers, it’s impossible to ignore. Every year, nearly half of the food produced in Canada goes to waste, while millions of people struggle to access nutritious meals. That disconnect is what inspired me to fundraise for Second Harvest.
Second Harvest is Canada’s largest food rescue organization, working across the supply chain to redirect surplus food to non‑profits that support people facing food insecurity. Their work doesn’t just put food on tables—it also reduces environmental impact by keeping good food out of landfills.
This year, my team is taking part in the Second Harvest Truck Pull Challenge, putting our strength to the test to support a cause that truly matters. Every dollar raised helps rescue food and deliver healthy meals to communities across the country—and even a small donation can make a meaningful impact.
