Genevieve MacKenzie is the Manager, Corporate Partnerships at Second Harvest. After completing her nutrition degree at Acadia University in 2017, she knew she wanted to use her degree to support communities and help address the growing food insecurity crisis in Canada.
She began her career running a food service and hospitality training program at an immigrant women’s centre in the east end of Toronto, followed by a brief (and memorable!) stint in the corporate world as a wild mushroom and truffle seller, before finding her place at Second Harvest more than four and a half years ago.
As an ambassador for the Race to Rescue campaign, Genevieve is passionate about raising awareness around food waste in Canada and helping ensure good food ends up where it belongs: on plates and out of landfills.
