Let’s fight food waste and food insecurity together!
Every year in Canada, nearly half of all food is wasted-enough to feed 17 million people-while at least 10 million struggle to put food on the table.
Instead of nourishing people, this wasted food generates 26 million tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions annually, worsening climate change and placing even greater strain on our food systems and communities.
As Canada’s largest food rescue organization, Second Harvest recovers surplus food across the supply chain and redirects it to non-profits feeding communities. In 2025 alone, Second Harvest rescued and redistributed over 95.3 million pounds of food to more than 10,800 non-profit programs.
Each year, CPB Canada is proud to select a conference charity that reflects our values of community, care, and giving back. At IGNITE 2026, taking place in Montreal from September 22–25, 2026, we are proud to support Second Harvest, an incredible organization dedicated to reducing food insecurity and food waste across Canada. Through their work in Montreal, Second Harvest supports and strengthens a network of local non-profit organizations, helping ensure surplus food reaches those who need it most.
As we travel across Canada, we aim to leave a positive and lasting mark on the cities and communities that host us. We invite our community to join us in supporting this worthy cause. Through collective generosity, we can make a meaningful difference and help strengthen the communities that graciously welcome us each year.
For every dollar raised, Second Harvest can rescue enough food for five healthy meals. Please join me in helping Second Harvest turn surplus into sustenance.
