TD Second Harvest Campaign

Let’s fight food waste and food insecurity together.

Every year in Canada, nearly half of all food is wasted — enough to feed 17 million people — while at least 10 million people are struggling to put food on the table.

Instead of going to the people who need it, food waste is adding 21 million tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions every year, worsening climate change and putting our food systems, and our communities, into an even more precarious state.

As Canada’s largest food rescue organization, Second Harvest rescues surplus food across the supply chain and redistributes it to non-profits feeding communities. In 2025, Second Harvest rescued and redistributed over 95.3 million pounds of food to more than 10,800 non-profit programs.

For every dollar raised, Second Harvest can rescue enough food for five healthy meals. Please join us in helping Second Harvest turn surplus into sustenance.
