As someone who grew up with food insecurity, I know what it feels like to worry about whether there will be enough to eat. That feeling never fully leaves you. And today, far too many Canadians are quietly living with that same fear. They might be friends, neighbours, or coworkers who are working hard but still can’t afford the food their families need. Others are dealing with job loss or unexpected hardship and simply trying to stay afloat. The number of people who can’t reliably afford food is rising fast.

My family is starting this campaign with a $15,000 donation. And this year, something truly meaningful is possible. The Nikita Foundation immediately matched our $15,000, turning it into $30,000. They’ll match up to $500,000 raised during this campaign.
